Chelsea happily confirmed signing Mamadu Saar from Ligue 1 Strasbourg, the defender signed with the club until 2033.

Mamadu was a main player in Strasbourg in the 2024/25 season and played a key role in helping French teams qualify for European competitions next season.

The 19-year-old player has made 28 appearances in various competitions, helping the club to qualify for the European Union play-offs next season. Mamadu initially showed great potential at Lons youth training camp and then joined Lyon. After growing up in the club’s youth team, he made his first team debut in the penultimate game of the 2022/23 season.

The influential defender won two more first-team appearances in the following season, and then loaned to Belgian club RWD Molenbeck for five months.

As a French U20 international, Mamadu joined Strasbourg in August last year and quickly became the main starter of the defense line. He started 27 times in the Ligue 1, helping Strasbourg finish seventh. His talent has been recognized by the country. He has represented many youth-level national teams in France and has recently played for the French U20 team.
