Zaniolo clashed with Roma’s youth team players after a youth team match between Fiorentina and Roma in May this year. Rome officials said Zagnolo rushed into the locker room to urinate anywhere and provoked and beat two Rome youth players. Zaniolo denied that he had acted violently. The Italian Football Association prosecutor is currently investigating the matter.
Zaniolo said on social media this week: “In recent days, I have accepted an inquiry from Football Association Prosecutor Giuseppe Cine. I want to thank him for giving me the opportunity to clarify my position and hope that this matter will be completely resolved this time. I obviously can’t talk about the details of the matter here in detail, but I think I have made a decisive explanation.”
“I want to reiterate that I did not attack or act violently against anyone, but have been unreasonably insulted by some Roman members and Provocative. Nevertheless, I admit that the reaction I made was not in line with my role and experience.
