Sky Sports said that Fenway Group’s football CEO Edwards wanted to sign Wilz as early as 2020, when the player was still playing for the Cologne Youth Team and has been in touch with Wilz’s family since then. It is worth mentioning that Leverkusen eventually took Wilz from Cologne for only 200,000 euros.
