When asked if the Club World Cup was the main factor that prompted him to join before the first transfer window closed, Cherki said: “Yes, of course.”
Cherki then talked about England Super League, he said: “I think I’m ready because I’ve been watching the Premier League, and for me, the Premier League is the best league in the world, and I can’t wait to play in Etihad with my teammates.” Cherki ended up saying: “It’s very important for me to play in big cups like the World Cup and the Champions League, and it’s very important when I see Manchester City want me and they can play in the Champions League. I want to play in all the cups in my career, and I think now is a good time to play in the Champions League.”
