If you can win the Golden Globe Award, would you bet with your relatives and friends with a watch?
“(laughs) I don’t make a bet, but I think I can get a small gift, and I will try to talk to club chairman Nasser about it.”
You are now calling for the Golden Globes. Is this your goal?
“(a little shy) It’s hard to say, but as a football player, the Golden Globes are obviously the highest honor that an individual can pursue, and it was a childhood dream. I remember the feeling when I saw players receive the Golden Globes on the Téléfoot show, it was incredible. Just that trophy, that Golden Globe, is very special.”
You have never been nominated for the Golden Globes before, and are now one of the popular winners. Have you ever thought about this day?
“I hope to be at least the top 30 (laughs). I’ve been through difficult times with injuries and poor performances…I think I’ve done a great job this season, so let’s wait and see. If my name can be on the roster, it would be amazing. Even if I fail to win the award in the end, being a hot candidate is a big win for me.”
It’s always hard to talk about myself, but why do you think you can be a Golden Globe winner?
“This is really a difficult question to answer… (laughs) I don’t know, after all, the voting is the reporter. Personally, I have always played football in the same way. Since I was a child, I hope to bring happiness to those who come to the stadium. I like extraordinary people and am happy to help the team. I hope to help my teammates score goals, and I will score goals myself. Everyone can have their own opinions. How they vote is their freedom. If you like Dembele, that’s great. If you don’t like it, life will continue, so let’s wait and see.”
